There is a small village primary school, situated at the heart of the community, with approximately 70 pupils in years Reception to year 6
In 2006 the school received a successful OFSTED report. It highlighted the good personal development of children in the school, pupils behaviour and how much they enjoyed being at school. Our curriculum was also praised for its ability to promote learning at the correct level for each individual child-6.
History
The main village was constructed in the early 1960's with earlier sporadic development in both Pitt and Gravelly Bottom Roads during the 1920 and 1930's. Kingswood is situated to the south of the more ancient village of Broomfield. An annual senior citizen outing is arranged by the parish council and paid for from the village precept.
The woods surrounding the village has three large craters often mistakenly attributed to WW II bombs, the origin of the craters is unknown
